John C Latta

John Latta's extensive aviation experience includes: Management, Quality Assurance, Safety Management Systems and Maintenance Programs. Operational experience includes Corporate, Air Ambulance and Aerial Photography.

He is an active participant in Canadian Aviation Regulation Advisory Council (CARAC) working groups effecting changes to the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs).

Past President of Pacific Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Association (PAMEA).


Experience

John has over 30 years experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, Supervisor and Avionics Technician; he has developed Transport Canada approved Maintenance Control Manuals, Maintenance Policy Manuals, Manufacturing Quality Program Manuals, JAA / EASA Supplements, Journey Logbook and Maintenance Tracking System and Quality Assurance Programs; he has experience with Contract Standards and Requirements for aircraft charter operators and Contract Management; he has extensive experience auditing fixed and rotary wing operators; and he developed a maintenance and regulatory training program and conducted training. John was the Technical Representative for the conversion of several Bombardier CL-215 piston water bombers to CL-215t turbo prop, including the prototype aircraft for the New Generation Conversion Program.

Management

John is a talented organizer with a reputation for efficient utilization of resources. He managed a fleet of 15 aircraft with 30 employees; liaised with Transport Canada and Aviation Industry; oversaw budget planning, as well as supplier and union contract negotiations; and developed a safe and efficient aircraft utilization system.
